North West Early Therapeutic Support (NESTS)
NESTS provides early therapeutic intervention to ‘hard to engage’, ‘at risk’ families on the verge of Child Protection involvement. The program is aimed at primary caregivers and their children aged 0-5 who have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences resulting in insecure attachments between caregiver and child.
The families NESTS work with experience complex issues often stemming from intergenerational trauma. NESTS have found that it is essential to use an eclectic tool box of trauma informed approaches, strategies and interventions which provides an experience of ‘felt safety’ for our families as well as helping them to find their ‘voice’.
