Education Liaison and Mediation Services, (North/North-West)
This is a free support service for schools and families in conjunction with the Department of Education.
This program supports learning and educational development opportunities for children and young people with disability and/or complex needs and builds positive relationships between the child or young person’s family and school.
Education Officers can provide support for schools and families of students with disability and/or complex needs in opening up lines of communication, liaising with affected parties, negotiating timetables, exploring alternative programs and supporting staff. Referrals can come from schools, CAMHS, families, advocacy groups, Department of Education support staff and other agencies.
