Doorways to Parenting Devonport
Doorways to Parenting is a holistic, family-focused program that seeks to provide early intervention supports to parents with CSS involvement, and family reunification support through therapeutic group programs and case management services. We provide advocacy with Child Safety Services and a suit of evidence based parent education programs; 123 Magic, Circle of Security and Bringing up Great Kids as well as the 10 week psycho-educational Family Reunification program (SPARK).
Through our program model we work collaboratively with parents and Child Safety Services from a child focused perspective, and provide therapeutic interventions as well as a Supervised Access playgroup in support of strengthening families, including those reunifying. This approach can increase parent /child access hours for families and provides a safe space to grow healthy relationships whilst providing mentoring and feedback to parents and observational reports to Child Safety Services. Additionally we provide individual and therapeutic supervised access and reports of parent/child observations in support of reunifying families.
