THS - Child Health and Parenting Service

Child and Family Health Centres

The Child Health and Parenting Service provides support to families with children 0 - 5 years of age.
Child and Family Health Nurses provide support, health, and practical parenting information for families and screen and surveillance growth/development assessments for children. They screen women for post-natal depression and provide education support and referrals as clinically indicated.
CHaPS can be contacted on 1300 064 544 between 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday for information about the nearest child health clinic and child health assessment ages/services available

Is a referral required?

No referral required The Child Health and Parenting Service staff will make contact with the mother after receiving birth notification (birth notifications serve as referrals) after the birth of the child. Any parent can self refer by calling 1300 064 544
